Unlocking Songwriting with Hooktheory

Hooktheory is an amazing song writing website and set of tools I came across a little while ago. I dug deep into it and came up with some inspirational song sparks! Though I feel I've only just scratched the surface. It's fascinating pulling up some of your favourite artists / tunes, and deconstructing them this way to see how the melodies and chord progressions work.

If you're serious about your songwriting you need to get a subscription to Hookpad and read both their e-books as well. This is musical theory taught in the right way and it's a lot of fun. I recently got my 15 year old son onto this and we wrote our first song together. Hats off to the founders Dave, Ryan and Chris for this incredible resource.
